The donkey and the path

A hungry donkey, burdened with a heavy load, makes his way along a steep path that seems to have no end.
On either side stretch green and fertile meadows.
Yet he says to himself:
“I will remain on this path.”

Another donkey grazes peacefully in a green meadow.
On either side lie steep and challenging paths.
Yet he says to himself:
“I am happy where I am.”
